What you give us when you book a service call
The request form is the only place this site asks you for anything. When you send one, we store what you typed:
- Your name
- Your phone number and email address
- Where the boat is — the address, plus any access notes you add, such as a gate code, a dock number, or where to park
- The boat’s make and length
- Which system is involved, how urgent it is, and your description of the problem
- Up to four photos, if you attach them
- The appointment time you picked
Alongside that we record the IP address the request came from and your browser’s user-agent string. Those two are kept for one reason: to tell a real booking from an automated one, and to rate-limit abuse of the form.
We use all of it to contact you, confirm a time, find the boat, and do the work. None of it is used for advertising, and none of it is sold.
How we count visitors
We keep a simple count of page views so we know whether the site is working. It runs on our own server rather than through Google Analytics or anything like it, and it records the date and time, which page was viewed, the domain of the site that linked you here if there was one, your country, and whether you were on a phone, tablet or desktop.
Your IP address is not stored. So that the same person is not counted twice in a day, the IP and browser are combined with the date and a secret value and run through a one-way SHA-256 hash. What gets saved is a short token that cannot be turned back into an IP address, and that becomes an entirely different token tomorrow. It is enough to count people and useless for identifying one.
These records are deleted automatically after 180 days.
Other companies involved
Running the site and the booking system means a few other companies necessarily handle some of this:
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and stores the request database.
- Resend — delivers email: your booking confirmation, and the alert telling us a request arrived.
- A mobile carrier message gateway — carries the alert telling a technician a job has been assigned to them. That message contains no customer information at all; it says only that a new job exists and where to sign in.
Two more are contacted by your browser purely to load this page, and see your IP address as an ordinary part of serving a file: Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) for the typefaces, and jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) for the 3D library that draws the boat models. Neither receives anything you type.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or any other cross-context behavioural purpose.
How long we keep things
- Visitor counts — 180 days, then deleted automatically.
- Service requests, photos, quotes and job notes — kept while we are working with you, and afterwards as an ordinary business and tax record. If you want yours removed sooner, ask and we will delete it.
Your choices
Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. There is no form to fill in and no account to sign into — a plain email is enough. If you ask us to delete a request we are actively working on, we will confirm first, since it normally means cancelling the job.
You can also simply not send a request. Nothing on this site requires you to identify yourself in order to read it, and calling us instead leaves no record on the website at all.
Children
This is a boat repair business. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
